Insurance Policies

Insurance Policies allow you to keep a track of any policies a property has such as rent protection, boiler cover, contents insurance etc. You can add the valid from and to date, as well as a reminder date for when that policy is expiring to ensure you keep up to date.

This article explains how to view and add insurance policies to properties but first you need to ensure you have policies setup in your Settings. For more information, see our Insurance Policies (Settings) help article.

Insurance Policy Card

The Insurance Policy card can be found from various areas within Street, including the property, tenancy, maintenance job, maintenance request, rent review and tenancy renewal pages as well as when adding a contractor, maintenance job and maintenance quote.

Look for the Insurance card on the right hand side of the page where you will see a list of any existing policies as well as their end date and status.

By clicking the 'view all policies' you'll be taken to the Compliance page for that property where you can manage the policies.

Adding an insurance policy to a property

From the Compliance page you can see a list of any existing insurance policies that have been added to the property and add new ones.

To add a new insurance policy, click the 'add insurance policy' button. From here you can upload the certificate and use Street AI to read the document and populate the valid from and to dates.

Managing an existing insurance policy

From the Compliance page you can click the three dots on the right hand side to manage an existing insurance policy. Here you can view and download the certificate, mark it as not renewing and edit the existing details.

If the certificate is expired you can also mark it as renewed.

Rent Protection Policy

If you setup a Rent Protection Policy for a property, you will see the rent protection 'shield' icon on the tenancy page and tenancy table, giving you visibility of which tenancies are covered by a rent protection policy.

If you use Street for your Client Accounting, you will also see the icon on the Arrears page.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
