Mandatory Fields
When adding data into Street you can choose which fields are optional and which are mandatory, giving you full control over the data your team enters ensuring no key information is missed.
Currently you can set required fields when adding information in the following areas: Person, valuation, sales and lettings applicants, property and property details.
Setting up your Mandatory Fields
To get started, head to Settings (on the left side panel, at the bottom) > Company Settings > Mandatory Fields.
Note - To access the Mandatory Fields settings you will need to be a Company Admin and have a role with the permission 'Allow this user to manage mandatory fields' enabled.
For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.
From here you'll see different tabs for each area in Street where you can customise which fields are required and must be completed when submitting the form.
By clicking into each tab you will see a list of fields relating to that area. Some fields will be set as 'always required', for example 'first name' when creating a person or 'owner' when creating a property and cannot be changed. However others, such as 'bedrooms' when booking a valuation or 'email' on a person can be toggled between being optional or required.
If toggled to required, this field must be filled in when completing that form and if it is left empty you will see a warning when trying to save.
Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
