Adding a Property in Street
There are a number of ways of adding a property in Street including booking a valuation, via the enquiry centre and from the main property table.
However the one thing that should remain consistent is the Street's single source of truth - that is there should only be one copy of a single property in your account. This allows you to keep a full track of a property's history in one place.
Note - There are some exceptions to the single source of truth when adding properties such as the property having a sales and lettings listing in different branches. If you are unsure how best to proceed, please contact the Street Support team via live chat.
Adding a Property
The quickest way to add a property in Street is to click the plus icon at the top right of your Street page and select Property.
Alternatively, while on the Properties table, you can click the 'Add Property' button.
You can also add a property when booking a valuation, including when booking a valuation from the Enquiry Centre.
Creating a Property
On the 'Create Property' page, you will first need to select the owner of the property by searching for the person in Street. If that person doesn't exist yet, you will be prompted to create the person first who can then be attached as the owner.
If the owner will be a company instead of a person, you can click the 'owner is a company' option instead and follow the same process of searching for the company or creating the company if it doesn't already exist.
Next you can enter the postcode and search to select the relevant address. If the postcode doesn't show the address you're looking for you can create a custom address by clicking the 'add address' button.
You will also see the 'create international address' option which can be used to create a custom international address that doesn't follow the UK address format.
If you are using a standard UK address and have the Spectre integration enabled in your account you will see the relevant property details on the right hand side in the Spectre card which will auto populate in the property details section.
Finally you have the option of marking the property as part of a development. If toggled on, you can select which development it belongs to. For more information, see our Developments help article.
Once the relevant property details have all been added you can finally select which branch the property belongs to and click the Create Property button. The property will now be in your system ready for use!
