Contacting Tenants

The Renters' Rights Act features are now live in your account!

With your tenancies converted, the next step is to let your tenants know about the changes.

From the tenancy table, tick the checkboxes on the left to select the converted tenancies you want to contact β€” or use the top checkbox to select all at once. This will reveal the Contact Tenants button.

Clicking it will open the email composer. Although the 'To' field shows all selected recipients together, each tenant will receive their own individual email - addresses are not shared between recipients.

The email will pre-load the RRA Conversion – Tenant correspondence template, written by Street to include all the key information tenants need. You can edit this template in your correspondence template settings if you'd like to adjust the wording.

The government Renters' Rights Act Information Sheet is automatically attached to this email as a default, helping you meet your compliance obligations without any extra steps.

Any emails sent to tenants using the conversion tool will be logged on the activity stream of the property, tenancy and person page.

Contacting Landlords

To contact your landlords about the RRA changes, use the Broadcasts feature. Head to the + icon in the top right of Street and select Broadcast.

Note - Note - To access the Broadcasts feature you will need a role with the permission 'Allow this user to send bulk email broadcasts' enabled.

For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.

From there, select your branches, then filter recipients by landlord type - you can choose all landlords, or narrow it down to let-only, fully managed, or rent collection landlords depending on who you need to reach. You can then compose your email and send.

For more information on using Broadcasts, see our Broadcast help article.

Street is constantly being updated. This can mean that some of these articles become slightly out of date. If you spot something that looks a little bit different to your Street account, please let us know on the live chat so we can get it updated!
