Broadcasts in Street
Broadcasts allow you to send a bulk email to multiple customers at once, including both individuals and companies - whether that's your entire network, specific branches, or a filtered group of recipients. They're ideal for things like holiday opening hours, changes in legislation, or company-wide updates.
Accessing Broadcasts
To access broadcasts, click the + icon in the top-right corner of Street and select Broadcast. It's important to note that if you have multiple branches, users will be able to email customers across all branches.
Note - To access the Broadcast option you will need a role with the permission 'Allow this user to send bulk email broadcasts' enabled.
β
For more information, see our Roles and Permissions help article.
From here you'll see a history of all previously sent broadcasts, including the subject, how many recipients it was sent to, the date it was sent, and its status. Click the three dots on any broadcast to view its recipients.
Sending a Broadcast
To get started, click the 'send a broadcast' button at the top right.
Step 1 - Branches
The first step is to choose which branches to send your broadcast to. You can either choose to email all branches or specific branches within your agency.
Note - If you are a single branch agency you will start on Step 2.
Step 2 - Recipients
The second step is to choose the recipients you want to email. Toggle 'All Customers' to include everyone, or choose specific recipient types: vendors, sales applicants, lettings applicants, landlords (including let-only, fully managed, and rent collection), and tenants (including let-only, fully managed, and rent collection).
Note - While you can choose types of recipients, it is not possible to choose specific individual recipients. For example you cannot choose 10 specific fully managed landlords to email.
You can also optionally filter by whether recipients have or haven't logged in to the Street platform (either via desktop or mobile app). If filtering by those who haven't logged in, you can narrow this down further by timeframe β up to 3, 6, or 12 months, or those who have never logged in at all.
Ignore Marketing Preferences
Toggling the 'ignore marketing preferences' option bypasses the marketing and email contact preferences set on individual person records, meaning people who have opted out will still receive your broadcast. A GDPR warning will appear on screen when this is enabled.
Warning - use this option carefully, only for genuinely transactional communications such as important legal or operational updates where you have a legitimate reason to contact all clients regardless of their preferences.
Step 3 - Content
The final step is to build your email using the editor.
Here you can select your 'from' address (branch or network email only) and brand, then either choose one of the four preset app-promotion templates or write your email from scratch. Additionally you can use the merge fields panel on the right to personalise your message, attach an email signature if you have one, and use Street AI to help generate content if needed - see our Street AI help article for more.
Note - It's not possible to create your own broadcast templates or use existing correspondence templates.
Before sending, you'll see the total recipient count and be asked to confirm. Click Send Broadcast and you're done.
Note - Emails sent via Broadcasts do not currently appear in the activity stream on individual person pages.
