Broadcasts in Street
You can use a broadcast to send out transactional email to multiple customers at once - to specific branches, or to all customers in your network. These emails are used to quickly let everyone know about things like holiday opening hours, company-wide updates, changes in legislation and so on.
Broadcasts Permission
In order to have access to using the Broadcasts feature, the user permission must be enabled in user management. This can be found via Settings > Account Administration > User Management > click into a user > scroll down to the Permissions section. For more information on User Management, see this help article.
By default, all Company and Branch admins will have this permission toggled on so they can use Broadcasts. Non-admins will have this toggled off by default however an admin user can toggle this on for individual users.
Note - It's also important to note that if you have multiple branches, users will be able to email customers across all branches.
Accessing Broadcasts
To get started, click the + icon at the top right of Street and select 'broadcast'. From here, you will see any previous broadcasts you've sent and can click the three dots on the right hand side to view the content of that broadcast.
Sending a Bulk Email
To create a new bulk email, click the 'send broadcast' button at the top right.
Step 1 - Branches
The first step is to choose which branches to send your broadcast to. You can either choose to email all branches or specific branches within your agency.
Note - If you are a single branch agency you will start on Step 2.
Step 2 - Recipients
The second step is to choose the recipients you want to email. If you want to contact everyone in your system, you can simply toggle 'all customers' which will toggle all checkboxes.
However you also have the choice of selecting specific types of recipients in the form of active vendors, landlords, applicants or tenants. With tenants and landlords, you can further filter down by let only or fully managed.
Note - While you can choose types of recipients, it is not possible to choose specific individual recipients. For example you cannot choose 10 specific fully managed landlords to email.
Ignore Marketing Preferences
The 'ignore marketing preferences' allows you to bypass the marketing preferences as set on an individual person page. However it's important to highlight that by ignoring marketing preferences, you may be acting in a way that is not fully compliant with GDPR regulations. If you toggle this option, you will see an on screen banner warning you of this, however you can still choose to proceed if you wish.
Step 3 - Content
The final step is to create the content of your email.
Here you will see the usual create email page, where you can select your 'from' address (this can either be your branch or network email - it's not possible to manually enter a different email address). You also have the option of selecting from one of four preset templates designed for each type of user (vendor, landlord, tenant, buyer). Alternatively you can free type your email out.
Note - It's not possible to create your own broadcast templates or use existing correspondence templates.
On the right hand side you can add in merge fields for the email and at the bottom you can select your preferred email signature if you have one setup. You can also make use of Street AI here to generate an email. For more information on this, see our Street AI help article.
When you're ready to send, click 'send broadcast' and you're done!
Note - Currently, emails sent from broadcasts will not show in the activity stream on the individual person pages. However this may be something that is added in future.
