Marking a Sale as Fallen Through

If a sale falls through, you can mark it as such from the sales progression page. This will update the sale status, notify the relevant parties, and optionally remarket the property.

How to mark a sale as fallen through

From the sales progression page, click the 'Mark sale as' dropdown at the top right and select 'Fallen Through'.

You'll then be asked to:

  • Select a reason - Choose why the sale fell through

  • Remarket the property - Choose whether to re-list the property or withdraw it

  • Mark the applicant as still looking - Choose whether the buyer should remain as an active applicant

  • Notify buyer and seller - Choose whether to notify the buyer and seller, as well as their solicitors

Note - The notify buyer and seller option will only show if the notification 'Sale Fallen Through' is enabled in your notification preferences. The content of these notifications can be edited via edit notification content.

If disabled, you will see the option to contact the solicitors instead.

What happens next

Once confirmed, the sale status will update to Fallen Through. The property status will change to:

  • For Sale - If you chose to remarket the property.

  • Withdrawn Sales - If you chose not to remarket.
