Notification Preferences
Street is designed to automate as many processes as possible to give you the time to focus on other tasks. One of the most impactful automated features is Notification Preferences. Many actions in Street can trigger an automated email and/or SMS to be sent to the relevant recipients.
For example, when a valuation is booked into your diary, an email can automatically be sent to the vendor informing them that the valuation is booked and providing any additional information such as date and time.
The content of many notifications in Street can also be edited, giving you the control to customise what content is sent out to your clients. For more information, see our Editing Notification Content help article.
Hierarchy
Notification Preferences are located in three separate settings within Street - Company, Branch and Property. These work in a hierarchy format whereby the settings at company level control what can be selected at branch level, and the settings at branch level control the property level.
For example, if the 'Viewing Request' notification is toggled on at a company level, it can be toggled on or off at branch level. If it is also toggled on at branch level, it can be toggled on or off at property level. However, if it is toggled on at company but off at branch level, it cannot be toggled on or off at property.
If the notification is toggled off at company level, it cannot be toggled on or off at either branch or property level.
Company Level Notification Preferences
Within Settings > Company Settings, you will see the section for Notification Preferences. Here you can setup which notifications should be toggled on / off at Company level, controlling which notifications can be toggled on/off at branch level.
To disable a notification, simply untick the checkbox on the Notification Preferences table. To enable the notification, tick the checkbox instead.
If a notification is disabled at company level, it will be not be possible to toggle this on at branch or property level, as company level is the top of the hierarchy.
Note - Not every single notification can be toggled on/off in notification preferences.
Branch level notification preferences
Within Settings > Branch Settings, you will see another section also called Notification Preferences. This is where you control notifications at the individual branch level and you will only have access to toggle on/off these notifications if they are toggle on at Company level.
Property level notification preferences
As highlighted, individual notifications can also be toggled on or off at property level, giving you more flexibility for individual clients. For example, you may want viewing confirmed notifications on at branch level but have a specific vendor who doesn't want to receive these emails, which you can toggle off at property level.
Note - When you list a property it will automatically have branch notification preferences applied by default.
Property level notifications can be found from the property page > info > settings > notifications.
For more information, see our Notifications for Individual Properties help article.
Notification Settings
From both branch and company level, you will see a 'settings' button at the top right which allows you to further customise notifications.
Branch Level Notification Settings
At branch level, the settings button gives you the ability to change the name that the notification will come from.
Below this, you have the option to control what email address maintenance related notifications should send from, i.e. maintenance@example.com, as well as what email address maintenance requests raised by tenants via the Street app or website should come into.
Note - Entering an email into either of the maintenance sections at branch level will override the Company level maintenance email setting if set.
Additionally, you have the option of setting the colours of buttons in your notifications so the colours match your branding.
You can also toggle on/off the setting to 'use branch branding on Street Mobile App emails', which will ensure your branch branding is used in any emails relating to the mobile app.
Finally, you can toggle on/off 'Enable Agent Viewing Notifications' which, when toggled on, will email notifications to viewers when viewings are confirmed or cancelled. This option is only accessible if toggled on at company level.
Company Level Notification Settings
At company level, you have the setting to choose the salutation that is used on notifications and the valuation report. You also have the option of choosing what email property match emails should be sent from.
As with branch level, you can also customise the maintenance from and to email addresses, as well as the branding on buttons in notifications and the option to toggle on/off 'Enable Agent Viewing Notifications'.
The other additional settings at company level are the 'Enable Powered By Street logo' toggle which when toggled on will show the 'powered by Street logo' on all emails.
