Adding a Quote

Once you have requested and received a quote, the next step is to add that quote to the maintenance job. You can also add a quote without needing to request a quote via Street (essentially skipping the 'request a quote step').

Note - Adding a quote is optional. You can choose to skip the 'add a quote' step and move ahead to the 'instruct a quote' step however there will no details of the quote if you choose to do this.

From the maintenance job page, click the 'Add Quote' button (or Actions > Add Quote) on the relevant contractor.

Here you can enter the amount that's been quoted (ticking if it is just an estimate) and optionally upload the quote and choose if you want to inform the landlord/s and request approval, inform without requesting approval or not inform.

If a value has been entered into the 'Maintenance Job Approval Preferences' field in the property onboarding section (property page > edit > edit property > details on the right), this will show in the 'owners approval preferences' section on the right hand side for your information. You should use this to decide how to proceed regarding approval.

Informing and Requesting Approval

If you choose to inform and request approval, an email will be sent to the landlord/s asking how they'd like to proceed.

If you have an owner's approval preference set and enter a quote amount that is below that preferences and request approval, a warning will show highlighting this however you can still proceed if you choose to.

Informing without Requesting Approval

If you inform without requesting approval, an email will be sent informing the landlord/s and tenant/s informing them that you've received a quote and and will keep them updated on any progress.

Don't Inform

If you choose the don't inform option, the landlord/s will not be emailed however the tenant/s will still receive an email informing them that the quote has been added.

Note - As highlighted above, depending on what option you choose, adding a quote will send an email to the landlord/s and/or the tenant/s. This notification is called 'quote created' which can be toggled on/off and the content of the notification can also be edited.

For more information on managing this notification, see this help article. If you want to manage this for a specific property, see this help article.

Once the quote has been added, the next step is for the landlord to approve / your agency to instruct the quote.
