The commissions module in SubcontractorHub allows flexible commission setup for the Solar + Battery job type. Users can opt to set a separate commission for batteries alongside the commission for the solar system. Follow the steps below to set up commissions for this job type.
Step 1: From the main menu, go to "Manage Commission" and select “Commissions”.
Step 2: Create a new commission by clicking “New Commission”.
Step 3: Choose the basis of the commission for a user, role or setter/closer by selecting the appropriate option. Select the user or role to which the commission is assigned.
Step 4: Select what the commission is for, and select the job type as “Solar + Battery”.
Step 5: Select the commission type (flat or percentage) and enter the commission value.
Step 6: In the “Is Separated" dropdown, choose if the commission for the battery should be calculated independently.
Together: Combines solar and battery values into one commission calculation.
Separate: Allows you to define different commissions for solar and battery portions individually.
Choosing “Separate” lets you assign a different commission specifically for the battery, rather than including it in the solar system commission calculation.
Step 7: If choosing "Separate", you will see three additional fields: “Commission For Battery”, “Commission Type Of Battery” and “Commission Value Of Battery”.
Step 8: From the “Commission For Battery” dropdown, select what the battery commission is for: battery cost, battery margin, or the battery total cost. The battery margin is the sum of the margin assigned within the database and the margin assigned by the sales rep.
Step 9: In the “Commission Type Of Battery” and “Commission Value Of Battery” dropdowns, select the commission type and value.
Example: In the image below, the Commission Type for Battery is set to FLAT—meaning the user will receive a fixed dollar amount instead of a percentage. The Commission Value is set to 10, so the user (System Admin) will earn a flat $10 commission on the battery portion of every Solar + Battery job, regardless of the battery’s actual cost.
Step 10: Click “Create Commission” to save. The example below gives the user 10% of the base solar system cost, and a flat $10 for the battery cost.
