Why Does This Matter?
Adders let you customize proposals by including additional equipment, services, or project-specific charges such as EV chargers, critter guards, or other optional components. Since available adders are managed by your organization admin, this feature helps ensure proposals stay consistent while allowing you to tailor them to each customer's needs.
What You Will Need
Access to the SubcontractorHub platform.
A proposal with permission to edit.
Adders configured by your organization admin.
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1: Locate the “Add-On” section of the proposal.
Step 2: Click on “Add Adders”.
Step 3: Select the adder you want to add.
Step 4: Click “Done” to add the adder to the proposal.
Step 5: To delete an adder, select the “Delete” option (trash icon) in the “Actions” section.
Note: For all roles except admins, the adder unit price is hidden, with the exception of custom adders. The "Unit Price" column will remain visible, but the value will not be shown for any adders other than custom ones.
Note: When Add-on Systems is enabled under System Details in a proposal, the System Details section continues to display the existing system without the add-on, while the design reflects the updated system with the add-on included.
Real-World Example
A sales rep is preparing a proposal for a homeowner who wants a solar system with an EV charger and critter guard protection. Instead of creating separate custom charges, they simply select both adders from the Add-On section. The proposal is updated instantly with the approved adders, ensuring the quote includes all requested items while following the organization's standardized pricing.
Pro Tip
Use adders to create standardized upsell packages instead of adding items manually each time. For example, if your organization has predefined adders for EV Chargers, Critter Guards, or Main Panel Upgrades, adding them from the Add-On section keeps pricing consistent and reduces proposal errors.
Troubleshooting
Issue | Solution |
The Add Adders button is not visible. | Confirm that you have permission to edit the proposal and that adders are enabled for your organization. |
The adder you need does not appear in the list. | Ask your organization admin to add or enable the required adder in the database. |
Unit prices are not displayed. | This is expected for non-admin users. Only Custom Adder prices are visible to non-admin roles. |
The design and System Details show different system information. | If Add-on Systems is enabled, this is expected behavior. The design includes the add-on, while System Details continues to show the existing system separately. |
