How to Add Roofing Adders

Updated over a month ago

To manage roofing adders in your organization’s database, follow a few simple steps to add, customize, and automate them. This guide walks you through selecting predefined adders, creating new ones, and setting up auto-add rules based on conditions like pitch, distance, or square size. These tools help streamline proposal accuracy and ensure consistent material planning across projects.

Step 1: Log in to your organization. From the main menu, click “Manage Database” and navigate to “Database”.

Step 2: Choose “Roofing” and select “Adders” from the drop down menu.

Step 3: Click “Add”.

Step 4: Select your “Adders” from the drop down list and click “Add”.

Step 5: Click “Yes”.

Step 6: You can also add a new adder to list by clicking “Add Adder” at top of your screen.

Step 7: Fill in the required details:

  • Name: Enter a unique and descriptive name for the adder (e.g., Roof Adder).

  • Adder Category: Select the appropriate category from the dropdown.

  • Minimum Quantity: Set the minimum quantity that should be applied when this adder is used in a proposal.

Step 8: To configure visibility and special flags, add the:

  • Hidden to Customer: Check this box if the adder should not be visible in the customer-facing proposal.

  • Hidden to Sales Rep: Check this to hide the adder from sales reps while building proposals.

  • Lock Price: Check this to lock the price of the adder so that the unit price cannot be edited within proposals.

Step 9: Define pricing and unit configuration by adding:

  • Unit Type: Choose how the cost is calculated (e.g., Flat, square, linear ft).

  • Fixed Amount: Enter the amount to be applied per unit based on the unit type.

Under the “Installer Contribution” dropdown, choose “Yes” if this adder is subsidized or covered by the installer or a program. When selected:

  • The adder will appear with the Installer Contribution checkbox in the proposal.

  • If checked, its cost will be excluded from the final pricing summary to reflect that the installer is covering it.

Step 10: Select which territories the adder is assigned to from the “Territory” dropdown. If the customer’s address matches, the adder will be available for selection in the “Add On” section of the proposal. You can then set up pricing either for all selected territories by choosing the “Same price for selected territories” option, or select different pricing for each territory by selecting the “Different price for selected territories” option.

Step 11: Once done, click ‘Add’.

Note: You can also enable “Auto Add” for your roofing adders by clicking on the “Auto Add” checkbox. You can set the conditions for Auto Add such as distance, state, pitch and many more. As soon as your proposal meets the condition, the adder will be automatically added to your proposal.

Note: Admins can set up auto-add rules for roofing adders based on the square size. When the conditions are met, the adder will be automatically included in the proposal.

Step 1: From the “Square size” dropdown, select the desired condition.

Step 2: Enter the “Square Size” value.

Note: You can now assign specific states to roofing materials within the database. If no state is selected, the material will be made available by default across all states.
