Understanding Design Modes in the AI-Assisted Roofing Design Tool

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Within the AI-Assisted design tool, there are two modes- Default and Manual. This article will explain the difference between the two design modes and explain which imagery sources are available for each.

Depending on the selected mode, there are several types of imagery to choose from. The following are the available imagery sources in the AI-Assisted tool:

Imagery A- Google HD

Imagery B- Nearmap

Imagery C- Vexcel

Imagery D- Google Static

Default Mode

In Default Mode, the design tool will generate a design automatically.

Sales reps can choose a different imagery source from the “Imagery” dropdown. Imagery A, B and C are supported by the Default Mode.

Note: If the sales rep selects Imagery D in Default Mode, the tool will automatically switch to Manual Mode. Imagery D is not supported in Default Mode.

Manual Mode

If a sales rep switches to Manual Mode, they will receive a pop-up asking to confirm the switch. Click “Yes” to continue.

The design tool will open as a blank slate, allowing the sales rep to design the roof manually from scratch, without any assistance from the AI. The tool will automatically select Imagery D as the image source.

Sales reps can select a different imagery source from the “Imagery” dropdown. Imagery types B, C and D are supported by Manual Mode. Imagery A is not available for Manual Mode.
