How to Use Manual Trigger in Project Automations

A Manual Trigger option is now available in Project module automations. This allows external systems to trigger automation workflows using a Webhook URL.

When setting up a manual trigger, you can define custom tags and types, and generate a webhook that can be used by an external API to trigger the automation for a specific project.

Once triggered externally, the configured automation actions, such as sending emails or updating fields, will run within the project module.

Follow the steps below to set up a manual trigger.

Step 1: On the “Automations” page, click “Add.”

Step 2: Enter the Name, then click “Next.”

Step 3: Select “Project” as the module, then click “Next.” Manual triggering is not available for other modules.

Step 4: Select the Job Type, then click “Next.”

Step 5: Click “Start Now!”

Step 6: Click “Add Start Trigger(s).”

Step 7: Select “Manual Trigger.”

Step 8: Click the “+” icon to configure the automation actions.

Note: Click “Manual Trigger Info” to view and copy the Webhook URL. This URL can be shared with an external API to trigger the automation using a project ID. When the webhook is triggered externally, the automation will run inside SubcontractorHub for the selected project.
