How to Add a Task Subject?

Task subjects can be managed easily when creating project tasks. Users can choose a saved task subject from the dropdown or enter a custom subject for a specific task. They can also add task subjects to the database.

This makes task creation faster, more organized, and more consistent across projects. Users can also add tags in the task subject and description fields to automatically bring in proposal details, such as the customer address.

Admins stay in control through role-based permissions. When enabled, users can add a new task subject to the database directly from the project task screen. Custom subjects can still be used for one-time tasks, but they will not be saved in the database.

Follow the steps below to add task subjects to the database and projects.

Step 1: Click “Manage Database” and select “Database” from the drop down.

Step 2: Click “Additional” and then “Task Subjects”.

Step 3: Click “+ Add”.

Step 4: Provide a name for the “Subject” and click “Save”. This task subject will now be added to the task list within projects.

Step 5: To view the task subject you created, go to “Manage Projects” and select “Projects” from the dropdown.

Step 6: Select the preferred project from the list.

Step 7: Scroll down to Tasks List and click the “+” icon.

Step 8: You will be able to view the task subject you added in the list. However, you can also select “Add Custom Subject” or “Add task Subject”.

Add A Custom Subject

Choosing “Add Custom Subject” lets you create a task subject that is unique to the current project. It is an one time addition that does not get added to the database.

Step 1: Click “Add Custom Subject”.

Step 10: Provide a name for the subject. You can also add tags to the task by clicking “Add Tags”.

Step 11: You can also add tags to “Description” by clicking “Add Tags”. Users can add tags to the task subject and description fields to automatically pull proposal information, such as the customer address or territory, into the task.

Step 12: Fill in all the other details and click “Save”.

Add A Task Subject

Only users with suitable permission will be able to use “Add task Subject” option. The admins decide which roles will have this permission.

Step 1: Click “Add Task Subject”. Selecting this option will add the task subject directly to the database.

Step 14: Provide a name for the task subject and click “Create”.

Step 15: You will see the task subject has been added directly to the task subject database.
