How to add Lemlist to Surfe

With Surfe, you can add LinkedIn contacts directly to your Lemlist campaigns with Surfe. Follow these steps to connect your Lemlist account to Surfe. You must have an active subscription to Lemlist.

Finding your Lemlist API key

Surfe is able to send and receive information from Lemlist thanks to an API. To set up the API, you need to tell Surfe what your unique lemlist API key is. You can find your Lemlist API key from your Lemlist account.

  1. Head over to settings and click on integrations

  2. Here you can generate (or regenerate if you lost it) your API key.

  3. It’s important that you copy and paste this somewhere safe so you can keep a record of it.

Connecting your API key to Surfe

Now that you have your API key, you just need to add it to your Surfe account.

  1. Head over to the Tools & Apps section of your Surfe Dashboard.

  2. Scroll down to the Email Automation section, where you will see the Lemlist logo. Here you will see a field for you to enter your API key. Paste your API key in this field and hit enter!

Enjoy using Lemlist!

Now, you will see the Lemlist logo when you visit a LinkedIn profile. Everything is set up and you can begin adding LinkedIn contacts to your Lemlist campaigns directly from their profiles!

Connecting Outreach to Surfe

Within the "Email Automation" section, select Outreach as your Sales Enablement tool. Please note that each user can only connect one sales enablement tool at a time, and currently, the choice is between Outreach and SalesLoft. If you opt for Outreach, the option to connect Salesloft will disappear from the side panel and the Surfe Dashboard.

It's essential to highlight that each team member must individually connect their Surfe account to their Outreach account. There is no company-wide connection option. Therefore, each team member must follow the outlined steps to ensure a successful integration.

Using the Outreach Integration

Adding LinkedIn profiles to Outreach sequences

Before you can add a LinkedIn profile to an Outreach sequence, you must first add the profile to your CRM and ensure that the associated email or phone number is present in the CRM.

When you visit a LinkedIn profile, you'll notice a new 'Add' button adorned with the Outreach logo in the info section. To add the LinkedIn profile to Outreach, simply click this button.

Patience during addition

The addition process may take a few seconds. While we work on adding the contact to Outreach, the 'Add' button may still be visible for a moment. It is crucial to avoid clicking 'Add' again during this time, as doing so may lead to an error message. Please wait patiently until the button disappears.

Assigning to an Outreach sequence

After successfully adding the LinkedIn profile to Outreach, a new bar will appear above the info section. In this bar, you can assign the LinkedIn profile to a specific Outreach sequence. Click “Choose a sequence,” and a pop-up will display the available sequences for selection.

Monitoring progress on LinkedIn profiles

Once a contact has been added to an Outreach sequence, Surfe will display this information on their LinkedIn profile. You'll be able to see which step of the sequence they are currently at, providing valuable insights for your sales outreach strategy.

Troubleshooting tips

Integration issues

If you encounter any problems during the integration process, double-check that you have followed the steps accurately. Ensure that you are using a compatible browser and that your Surfe and Outreach accounts are active and correctly linked.

Slow addition process

If the “Add” button with the Outreach logo remains visible for an extended period after clicking, avoid clicking it again. Allow a few seconds for the system to process the addition before attempting any further actions.

Adding to the wrong sequence

If you accidentally add a LinkedIn profile to the wrong Outreach sequence, don't worry. Simply access the contact's profile on Outreach, and you can reassign them to the desired sequence within the Outreach platform.
