Introduction
Shipping rules allow you to set clear pricing and conditions for delivering physical products. Whether you want to charge by order price, product weight, or region, these rules help you manage shipping costs and give your customers transparency at checkout.
Creating a Shipping Rule
Go to Store → Settings → Shipping.
Click Add Shipping Option.
Fill in the details:
Shipping Name – The label your customers will see at checkout (e.g., “Standard Shipping,” “Express Shipping”).
Conditions – Choose whether the rule applies based on:
Price range (e.g., orders $0–$50 = $10 shipping, orders above $50 = free shipping)
Weight range (e.g., 0–2kg = $8 shipping, 2–5kg = $15 shipping)
Cost – Set the shipping price for the condition.
Global vs. Country-Specific Rules
Global Rule: Applies worldwide.
Country-Specific Rule: Uncheck “Global” and select one or multiple countries.
Example: Free shipping in the US but $15 flat rate for international orders.
Units & Currency
Go to Settings → General Settings to adjust:
Measurement Units (e.g., pounds, kilograms).
Currency (e.g., USD, AUD, EUR).
These settings ensure your shipping rules are aligned with your store’s location and customers.
Editing Shipping Rules
View your existing rules in the Shipping dashboard.
Click Edit on any rule to update costs, ranges, or country restrictions.
Changes apply immediately once saved.
Best Practices
Offer free shipping thresholds (e.g., free shipping for orders over $100) to increase average order value.
Create multiple shipping options (e.g., Standard vs. Express) to give customers flexibility.
Keep international shipping costs transparent - customers are less likely to abandon their carts if they know the fees upfront.
Test your rules by running a mock checkout to confirm the correct costs apply.
