If you would like a certain word or phrase to remain in English, it is possible to skip translation.
Additionally, teachers who speak a second language can skip translation for their full messages and communicate with families in that particular language.
Skip translation for parts of your message
Step 1: Compose your message as normal.
Step 2: Insert curly brackets {} around the phrase or sentence you want to keep in English.
Step 3: Send your message. Families who have a different home language will receive a translated message, except for the phrase in curly brackets.

Family view.
Add a second language to your account
Step 1: Click your name in the bottom corner and select 'Settings.'
Step 2: In the 'Personal Information' tab, click the dropdown menu to select a language.
Step 3: Select the second language and click 'Save.'
Step 4: When composing a message, click the 'Skip translation' box, and the message won't translate.
Please note: The 'skip translation' option only appears for Stella DeLozier because her home language is French. Your second language has to coordinate with the family's home language for the 'skip translation' feature to work.
