What are HTML Email Templates?
An HTML Email Template is a reusable template that defines the structure and style of an HTML email — elements like the title, sub-headers, paragraphs, and overall formatting. Functionally, it works the same way as a newsletter template, giving users a consistent, pre-designed starting point each time they want to send a formatted email without building it from scratch.
Which communications can use an HTML Email Template? Does this apply to Emergency Alerts, Broadcast Notifications, standard messages, or all outgoing email?
HTML Email Templates can be used with Broadcast Notifications and standard messages. They are not available for Emergency Alerts.
Who has access to create and manage HTML Email Templates? Is this district-level only, or can individual schools manage their own?
Both district and school users can create and manage HTML Email Templates. Districts can also create templates and share them with all schools in their district for brand consistency.
Can a district configure different templates for individual schools?
No. If a district creates an email template to share with schools, it will be shared with all schools.
How are HTML Email Templates created? Does it require technical knowledge (HTML/CSS), or is there a visual editor?
HTML Email Templates are created using a drag-and-drop editor, no technical or HTML/CSS knowledge required.
Do templates apply automatically to all outgoing emails, or does a sender select a template at compose time?
Templates are not applied automatically. The sender selects a template when composing the message.
How do HTML Email Templates interact with the district's existing custom "From" email address setting?
If the district has already configured a custom sender address (e.g., noreply@district.org), the email will be sent from the same configured email address.
Are template elements (e.g., header, footer, branding) translated for families who receive email in another language?
Yes. Any text within a text block in the template will be translated for families who receive email in another language.
Will HTML Email Templates be available in TalkingPoints Foundations or AFC+ only?
HTML Email Templates will be available in AFC+ only, not in TalkingPoints Foundations.
