For: District Admins, School Admins, and Teachers of AFC+, School Engagement, and District Engagement partners
❗ This feature is coming soon! If you are a current TalkingPoints partner with a AFC+, School Engagement or District Engagement package, look for this new functionality in September 2026.
What is a newsletter?
A newsletter is a message with formatting, like colors, images, and buttons. Newsletters let teachers and admins create nice-looking updates and share them with families. Families can get a newsletter by email, text, or inside the TalkingPoints app. You build it once, then send it to families. Here is what each type of contact sees:
Email contacts: The newsletter shows up as the full email.
Text contacts: They get a link to view the newsletter on a web page.
App contacts: They can open and read the newsletter right inside the TalkingPoints app.
Who can create and send newsletters?
Teachers don't need any special permission. Once Newsletters is turned on, every teacher can create and send them.
Good news: this permission is already turned on by default for the District Admin and School Admin roles. If your team uses custom roles, you can add this permission to any of them.
Next steps
Once Newsletters is turned on and your team has the right permissions, you're ready to start building. Head to Creating a Newsletter to learn how the editor works.
