For: District Admins, School Admins, and Teachers of AFC+, School Engagement, and District Engagement partners
❗ This feature is coming soon! If you are a current TalkingPoints partner with a AFC+, School Engagement or District Engagement package, look for this new functionality in September 2026.
Once your form is ready, you can attach it to a message and send it to families. This article walks through the different ways to do that, plus a few things worth knowing before you hit send.
Ways to Attach a Form to a Message
You can add a form to a message from any of these places:
A student's message thread (only available in the School and Teacher applications)
Please find the details below:
The message compose window
When you're writing an announcement or a direct message, you can attach a form directly from the compose modal.

Users are only able to add Digital Forms in the TalkingPoints for School and TalkingPoints for Teacher applications only. This is not available in the TalkingPoints for Districts application.
While viewing a direct message thread for a specific student, you can attach a form there.
Attaching a form from a student's message thread:
The Form Editor
While you're editing a form, click the share option. This opens the compose window with your form already attached.

The Forms page
From your list of forms, click the three dots next to any form and choose Send (for a draft) or Resend (for a form you've already sent).

No matter which path you use, you'll be asked to pick which form to attach from a list of your drafts and sent forms.

Good to know: You can attach any form — draft or already sent — to a new message. If you resend a form that's already collected responses, those new responses are added to the same results. They aren't tracked separately for each time you send it.
A Few Things to Know Before Sending
Forms always accept responses. Right now, there's no way to turn off responses for a form once it's out. If your form has already collected all the responses you need, just avoid sending it again.
Forms cannott be attached to emergency alerts. If you're sending an emergency alert, you won't see the option to add a form.
Email delivery works a little differently. If your message also goes out by email, the form link shows up at the bottom of the email — not as a text or app link in that case.
Attendance and personal inboxes. If your school has both Forms and the Attendance feature, you can send forms from the Attendance inbox. If you have a personal inbox, you can send forms from there too.
How Families Actually Get the Form
You don't need to do anything extra here — this happens automatically once you send. But it can help to know what the family sees:
Text message contacts get a separate text with a link to a landing page. That page shows a form link for each of their students.
Family App contacts see the form appear right in their message thread. Tapping it opens the form inside the app — they don't have to leave it.
If the form includes a signature, text message contacts have to verify their identity with a code first. Family App contacts skip this step, since they're already signed in.
