How to Access and Use the Taplio API

Looking to connect Taplio with your favorite tools, pull your analytics programmatically, or build custom workflows? You're in the right place. Our API allows you to integrate your LinkedIn growth efforts directly into your own systems.

📚 The API Documentation

You can find the complete API reference - including available endpoints, parameters, authentication details, and code examples - right here:

💡 Not a developer? If you want to manage Taplio from an AI assistant like Claude or ChatGPT, you don't need the API. Use the Taplio MCP instead: Getting started with the Taplio MCP.

🔑 Where to get your API Key

Before you can start making requests, you will need to authenticate using your unique API key. Here is how to find and copy it:

  1. Log in to your Taplio account.

  2. Click your name in the bottom left corner and open Account settings.

  3. Open the Integrations tab.

  4. In the API Key block, click the copy icon to copy your key.

Don't see the Integrations tab? It's only available with an active Taplio subscription.

⚡ Make your first request

All requests go to https://api.taplio.com. Send your API key in the Authorization header as a Bearer token: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY.

A good first test is listing your most recent post: GET /v1/posts?limit=1

If something goes wrong, the error code tells you why:

  • 401 - the API key is missing or invalid. Copy it again from Account settings → Integrations.

  • 403 - your subscription doesn't allow this request.

  • 429 - you've hit the rate limit. Wait a moment and try again.

See the API Documentation for every available endpoint.

🔒 Keep your key safe

Treat your API key exactly like a password. Anyone who has it can access your Taplio account through the API. Never share it publicly, post it in forums, or expose it in client-side code.

If you think your key has been exposed, click Rotate key under your API key in Account settings → Integrations to get a new one, then update it anywhere you use the old key.
