Getting started with the Taplio MCP

Connect Taplio to your personal AI and manage your LinkedIn presence through conversation. Learn what the MCP does and how to install it on Claude Code or Claude Desktop.

The Taplio MCP has been launched recently. The core features are live and working, but we're still improving the experience and some rough edges may remain.


What is the Taplio MCP?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is an open standard that lets AI assistants like Claude connect directly to external tools. With the Taplio MCP, you can manage your LinkedIn presence through your AI assistant (writing posts, checking analytics, scheduling content, commenting) all from a single conversation. Nothing is posted until you confirm it in the conversation.

Once connected, you can ask your AI to:

  • Write and refine LinkedIn posts

  • Schedule posts for a specific date and time

  • Reschedule or unschedule posts

  • Publish a post immediately

  • Delete drafts you no longer need

  • Search for content inspiration

  • Find posts and comments worth engaging with, and write comments and replies

  • Like posts and comments

  • Send connection requests

  • View your overall analytics

  • Get performance data for individual posts

  • Pull up your Taplio profile and preferences

Available options

Claude (web & desktop app)

This is the simplest way to connect: no API key or configuration file needed.

  1. Open Claude and click Customize.

  2. Click Connectors.

  3. Click the + button.

  4. Select Add custom connector.

  5. Set the name to Taplio and the Remote MCP Server URL to https://mcp.taplio.com/

  6. Log in to Taplio (if not already logged in) and click Allow.

That's it! Taplio is now connected to Claude.

💡 Claude lets you add the Taplio connector only once per Claude account.

Claude Code (terminal)

If you use Claude Code in the terminal, run the following command:

claude mcp add --transport http taplio https://mcp.taplio.com/

To make it available across all your projects (not just the current one), add -s user:

claude mcp add -s user --transport http taplio https://mcp.taplio.com/


Claude Code will prompt you to log in to Taplio and authorize access the first time you use it. To confirm the connection, run /mcp or claude mcp list in your terminal.

ChatGPT

You can also connect Taplio directly inside ChatGPT.

  1. Go to https://chatgpt.com/apps

  2. Click the Settings icon in the top right

  3. Click on Advanced Settings

  4. Activate Developer mode (if not already active)

  5. Click Create App

  6. Set the Custom Name to Taplio and the Connection URL to https://mcp.taplio.com

  7. Check the "I understand and I want to continue" box

  8. Click Create

  9. Click Sign in with Taplio

  10. Log in to Taplio (if not already logged in) and click Allow

That's it! Taplio is now available inside ChatGPT.

Manus AI

Another available option is to connect Taplio directly with Manus AI.

  1. Go to https://manus.im/app/plugins

  2. Search for 'Taplio' among the plugins

  3. Choose the Taplio plugin

  4. Click on Connect

  5. Click on Allow Access

Upon loading, you will get the 'Successfully installed connector' message at the top of the page and your Taplio account is now connected to your Manus AI account.

Kiro

  1. Click this link.

  2. Kiro asks to confirm adding the Taplio MCP server. Confirm.

  3. The first time Kiro uses Taplio, log in to Taplio and click Allow.

  4. Manual setup: add {"mcpServers": {"taplio": {"url": "https://mcp.taplio.com/"}}} to .kiro/settings/mcp.json

Cursor

  1. In Cursor, open Settings, then MCP, then New MCP server.

  2. Paste this into the config file (~/.cursor/mcp.json):

  3. Log in to Taplio when prompted and click Allow.

Do I need a plan?

  • Never subscribed to Taplio? You can try the Taplio MCP for free: you get 50 free calls, no plan needed. When you reach them, your AI tool explains why and shares a link to start your 7-day free trial or pick a plan.

  • Had a Taplio subscription before? The free calls and trial don't apply: you'll get a link to pick a plan.

  • Starting your trial or plan from Claude or ChatGPT? After payment, you're sent straight back to your AI tool so you can carry on where you left off.

  • Comments and replies through Claude, ChatGPT or the API need the Growth plan or above. Your AI can't post a second comment on a post your account already commented on, or a second reply to a comment it already replied to. Replying to a different comment under the same post still works.

  • Inspiration searches have a daily limit: 50 on Starter and the free trial, 150 on Growth, 300 on Pro. The limit resets at 00:00 UTC. Searches inside the Taplio app and Ask Taplio don't count toward it.
