TaxiWebBooker uses the Google Maps API to provide accurate addresses, locations, and routing across all our tools, including the Web Booker and the Dispatch Panel.
Using TaxiWebBooker’s Shared API Key
When you sign up for a TaxiWebBooker plan, your account is automatically set up with our shared Google Maps API key.
This ensures everything works out-of-the-box.
However, for Pro and Full plans, an extra fee of €0,15 per job is added to cover these Google Maps usage costs.
The Cost-Efficient Option: Use Your Own Google Maps API Key
To avoid these extra costs, we recommend setting up your own Google Maps API billing account. Here’s why:
Google gives every billing account a $300 free monthly credit, which is usually more than enough for most taxi businesses.
With your own key, Google bills the API usage directly to your account.
This means you can use the TaxiWebBooker system without paying the extra €0,15 per job fee.

The TaxiWebBooker Solutions are using the following API's:
Google Autocomplete including Google Places. This includes resolving a selected place and gathering its address information. (This excludes address autocomplete, that is a separated API.)
Google Direction service to calculate ETA (This is optional) - only used in the driving to pickup status when the client has the app open.
Google Directions to show route when departure and destination is selected.
Step 1: Get your free Google Cloud Account
You can sign up quickly and start with Google Cloud Free Tier credit:

Step 2: Setup your Google API key in your TaxiWebBooker account
Log in to the web portal on https://portal.taxiwebbooker.com/
Choose "Settings" in the left menu.
Make sure "General" is selected in the settings manu.
Go to the "Google API Configuration"
Start the wizard through the button "Setup with Google Cloud"
Invite TaxiWebBooker administrator
For some configurations it is better to give the YourDriverApp developers access so that the keys in your account can be configured for you.
After registering you can go to IAM & Admin -> IAM in the menu
At the top of that screen you can add people and select the role, you can select different roles here, if you give us the owner role we can do everything necessary.
