Announcements let you quickly share important updates with everyone in your school. Messages appear on each person’s dashboard, and users with the Teach ’n Go mobile app can also receive push notifications. This guide explains how to send announcements and manage your history.
Mobile app notifications
Make sure to turn on push notifications for announcements in the School settings.
To make sure your school community receives alerts instantly, encourage them to:
Download the Teach 'n Go mobile app.
Allow mobile push notifications on their device.
This ensures they get notified as soon as a new announcement is posted.
Sending an Announcement
1. Go to Communications
In the left menu, go to Communications
Click New message in the top-right corner.
Announcements can also be sent from classes, lessons, individual profiles, or the student table.
2. Choose announcement recipients
You can choose who receives your announcement:
Use the quick-select options (teachers, staff, students, related contacts).
Search for individuals or Classes to target specific groups.
3. Write your message
Type your announcement in the message area.
Add images, links, or attachments to make your message more engaging.
4. Set optional scheduling
Announcements include two additional options:
Scheduled date: Choose a future date and time if you want the announcement to send later. Leave it blank to send immediately.
Expired date: Choose when the announcement should stop appearing on dashboards.
5. Send your announcement
Click Send when you’re ready.
Recipients see the announcement on their portal dashboard.
Anyone with the mobile app and notifications enabled receives a push alert.
Viewing announcement history
You can review all past announcements from the Announcements tab in the History page.
