Add Work Experience
If you do not have any work experience saved to your Resume Builder, click the "Add Work Experience" button to get started.
To add more work experience after, click the "+" button located at the top of the Work Experience section. You'll see options to either add a new company and position entirely or add a new position to an existing company in your Resume Builder.
If you'd like to edit existing experiences that were added from importing a resume, hover over the details you'd like to update and click on the pencil icon.
Companies & Positions
NOTE: If you worked at one company at separate times and are attempting to add two companies of the exact same name, our system will return an error to prevent duplicates from being added to your Resume Builder.
Instead, we recommend adding all of the positions you've held and each of their tenures under one company. By default, your experiences will be sorted by date and automatically displayed according to their start and end dates in your resume.
Companies
Clicking the pencil icon next to a company name will open a form in which you can adjust the organization name and description.
Positions
Similar to companies, the pencil icon will open a form in which you can edit a particular position's details. The fields in this form include the:
Position Title
Position Description
Location
Position Type
Start & End Dates

You can quickly access and update the Work Experience section's content, section, and template settings by clicking the three dots button at the top of the section.
Edit Existing Content
Hover over "Edit Company" or "Edit Position" to view a list of all the companies and positions you currently have saved to your Resume Builder. Clicking into one of the options listed will take you to the editing form for that company or position.
Section Settings
Under "Section Settings," you can customize how you'd like certain section components to be displayed on your resume.
Sort By
By default, your work experiences will be sorted by date and displayed according to their tenures. If you would like to manually rearrange your experiences, select the "Manual" setting.
Group By
Show your work experience by company or by position. Depending on your selection, this setting will place an emphasis on either the company or the position title.
Dates By
Choose whether you'd like to show the overall tenure you spent at a company, the period of time spent in each individual position, or both.
Location By
Choose to show locations by company, by position, or hide them altogether.
Expand & Collapse All Work Experiences
If you have a lot of work experience and prefer to focus on a few at a time, you can collapse all your companies to quickly declutter that section in your Resume Builder.
When you'd like to view all of your experiences again, you can expand all companies from that same menu.
Template Settings
"Template Settings" lets you adjust how your dates and locations are formatted and displayed. This setting can be accessed from all sections in your Resume Builder except Contact Information, Target Title, Professional Summary, and Skills & Interests.
Date Format
Choose the date format that best aligns with your preferences and the expectations of your audience (e.g., regional conventions).
MM/YYYY displays the dates of your experiences as a numerical month and full year.
YYYY displays only the full year.
Jan YYYY displays the abbreviated month and full year.
January YYYY displays the full month and year.
