How to edit your Education, Certifications, Awards & Scholarships, Projects, Volunteer & Leadership, and Publications sections

Updated over a week ago

Add Education History

To include your education history, open the Education section and click "Add Education" or the "+" button.

If you’ve imported a resume, you can hover over the existing text and select the pencil icon to edit those details.

For institutions, you can also click the "+" icon to add additional degrees earned from the same school.

Adjust Education Settings

Quickly access and update the Education section's content, section, and resume template settings by clicking the three dots button at the top of the section.

Edit Existing Content

Hover over "Edit Institution" or "Edit Degree" to view a list of all the schools and degrees you currently have saved to your Resume Builder. Clicking into one of the options listed will take you to the editing form for that institution or degree.

Section Settings

Under "Section Settings," you can customize how you'd like certain section components to be displayed on your resume.

Sort By

By default, your education will be sorted by date. If you would like to manually rearrange your education details, select the "Manual" setting.

Group By

Display your education by institution or by degree. Depending on your selection, this setting will place an emphasis on either the school or degree.

Layout

Adjust your education's layout to be either stacked or inline.

Add Certifications, Awards & Scholarships, Projects, Volunteer & Leadership, and Publications

Our remaining sections (Certifications, Awards & Scholarships, Projects, Volunteer & Leadership, Publications) can also be manually added to and edited by following the same steps above!

NOTE: For these additional experiences, "Sort By" is currently the only available section setting.

Template Settings

"Template Settings" lets you adjust how your dates and locations are formatted and displayed. This setting can be accessed from all sections in your Resume Builder except Contact Information, Target Title, Professional Summary, and Skills & Interests.

Date Format

Choose the date format that best aligns with your preferences and the expectations of your audience (e.g., regional conventions).

  • MM/YYYY displays the dates of your experiences as a numerical month and full year.

  • YYYY displays only the full year.

  • Jan YYYY displays the abbreviated month and full year.

  • January YYYY displays the full month and year.

Date & Location Alignment

Place dates and locations next to your experiences (typically closer to the left side of the page) or to the right of the document.
