By linking your team's time off calendar, Surfboard will automatically plan around your surfer's planned time off and absences.

Finding your iCal link

To sync your HR or email calendar, all you need to do is add the iCal links and Surfboard will do the rest.

We've collated some help articles for some of the most popular calendar clients our customers use. Follow the links below to find out how to find your iCal link:

Adding your ical to Surfboard

When you've logged into Surfboard follow these steps:

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select 'Time off calendar'

  3. Paste the ical link

  4. Give your calendar a name

  5. Hit 'Save'

Now we'll be able to pull your time off into Surfboard. Please note we pull through holiday every half an hour so you'll need to wait 30 minutes for this to be visible on your schedule.

Using a calendar client

When using a calendar client, it's important to include your surfer's full name in the event title so we can track their time off. Surfboard looks for keywords such as 'holiday', 'appointment' and 'leave' to detect events that should be marked in the schedule.

Some managers prefer to make shared calendars private. Calendars may contain personal information such as the type of time off, that surfers may not want their colleagues to know. The good news is, Surfboard can still pull your surfer's time off using private calendar iCal links. We'll just need your secret ical address:

  1. In the "Secret address in iCal format" section, copy the link.

  2. Take this link and paste it into your Time Off page in Surfboard.
