PESTICIDE MANAGER

By using TELUS Supply Chain, you are able to submit a Proposed Pesticide Usage form (PPU) for all your growers’ crops.

CREATE A PPU

  1. You can create a PPU by using the Pesticides menu item. Click Create PPU to create a PPU:

  1. The Create PPU screen will load:

  1. Start by selecting your Supplier the PPU relates to. Click the Select Suppliers drop-down and tick the appropriate supplier. If you are the grower and it is your own PPU, tick My Organisation. You can select multiple suppliers / growers if needed. If selecting multiple growers please remember to tick the 'Group PPU' box.

  1. Click Add Suppliers.

Please note – You will need to be in a supply chain with an organisation for it to appear in the drop-down. If you have not set up the necessary supply chain(s) yet, please refer to CREATE A CHAIN.

  1. Select a Harvest Year. Choose from the current year or next year:

  1. Under Submit PPU To, click Select Reviewers:

  1. Select the reviewer, if you are self assessing tick My Organisation:

  1. Click Add Reviewers.

  2. Select an Expiry Date by clicking on the calendar. This date needs to include any post-harvest treatment to the crop:

  1. The Crop Country of Origin is defaulted to the selected supplier’s country. You can change this if it is incorrect by clicking Change and then selecting the correct country.

  1. Choose a Crop for the PPU. In the ‘Search crops’ field, start typing the crop you wish to add. For example:

  1. Select the correct crop from the search results.

  2. The selected crop will be added. A green tick will indicate that this has been successful:

If for some reason you cannot find your crop you can select the 'Can't find your crop?' link at which point the following pop up will appear:

You will get an enhanced list of products to choose from, if the product you are looking for still does not appear, please contact the support team to get this added into the system.

  1. Choose the Crop Situation. Click Select and choose the correct option from the drop-down. For example:

ADDING PESTICIDES

  1. Start adding your pesticides to the PPU by using the Pesticide Search. In the search box, start typing the Trade Name or Registration Number of the pesticide. For example:

2. Matching results will be displayed. Select the correct pesticide

  1. Then click Add to PPU to add the pesticide to the PPU:

  1. The pesticide will be added to the PPU:

  1. You can remove any pesticide added by clicking Remove or you can include supporting information by clicking Add comment.

  2. Repeat steps 1 – 3 for all of the pesticides required.
    Please note - You now have the option to search by Actives:

If you are unable to find your using the standard search please select the Can't find your pesticide link and the pop up box will appear where you can search by Trade Name or Registration Number.

ADDING PESTICIDES WITHOUT APPROVALS

If you are creating PPUs for Countries where we have no Approval data you will be shown this message.

When searching for a Pesticides it will search the entire databases, any Pesticides which are located will have no Approval status.

ADVANCED PESTICIDE SEARCH

  1. If you cannot find your pesticide in the regular search, click Can’t find your pesticide?

  1. This will launch the search window:

  1. You can search by Trade Name or Registration Number, select which using the ‘Search by’ button.

  2. Enter a full or partial Trade Name or Registration Number and click Search. Find your pesticide in the list, select it and click Add to PPU:

  1. The selected pesticide will be added to your PPU.

SAVING YOUR PPU

When you have finished adding your pesticides to the PPU, there are three options.

If you pick Submit or Submit & Review you will not be able to change the growers after that point.

If you select Save for Later you will be able to change your supplier until you submit it. You can not share the PPU until it has been submitted.

  1. To save your PPU, click Submit:

  1. Click Yes to confirm:

  1. Your PPU will be saved and is now ready for you to review:

REVIEW A PPU

You can review PPUs you have submitted to yourself, and PPUs submitted to you by your suppliers.

1. To review a PPU, go to the Pesticides menu and click PPUs:

2. On the PPU you wish to review, enter a tick in its checkbox (on the left hand side) and select Review from the Actions column:

3. The PPU Review page will be displayed:

4. Against each Pesticide you will see a Pesticide Status. This indicates the legal approval status for that pesticide for use on the crop in the country selected:

  • Approved – The pesticide is approved for use on the selected crop in the selected country

  • Expiring – The pesticide is approved, however the approval is due to expire.

  • Expired – The pesticide approval has expired

  • No Approvals – There are no approvals for use of the pesticide on the crop in the country selected.

5. If you need to validate your PPU with a retailer, select the relevant Protocol and then select Apply:

6. You will also see a Retailer Status. If you have applied a retailer protocol scheme for the PPU, this will highlight whether any pesticides on the PPU are banned or restricted according to the retailer protocol:

7. All other information such as Active Ingredient, MRL, Chemical Group and Harvest Interval are automatically pulled through from the Fera and Homologa databases.

8. If the PPU needs to be approved (please refer to the specific retailer’s scheme documentation), within the Review PPU page, select Approve from the Actions column:

EDIT A SUBMITTED PPU

  1. To edit an existing PPU, locate the PPU you wish to edit, tick its checkbox and click Edit from Actions:

  1. To remove a pesticide from the PPU, click Remove:

  1. To add further pesticides, follow the steps detailed in ADDING PESTICIDES.

  2. Click Save when completed.

Please note – If your PPU was Approved or Rejected before you edited it, it will revert to the status of Pending and will be re-submitted to the PPU reviewer.

SHARING YOUR PPU

Once you have reviewed your PPU, if you are ready to share it with your customers follow the steps below. Only PPUs which have been Submitted can be shared with other organisations, please note the organisation/retailer will not be able to see the PPU if it has not been shared with them.

  1. To share your PPU with a customer, go to the Pesticides menu and click PPUs:

  1. Tick the PPUs checkbox and click Review on the PPU you wish to share:

  1. The PPU Review page will be displayed:

  1. To share your PPU, select Share:

  1. Search for the customer name in the search bar, select them from the list and click Save:

SHARING MULTIPLE PPUs

Once you have reviewed your PPUs, if you have multiple ones that you need to share with one of your customers, you are able to share them from the PPUs page.

  1. To share your PPU with a customer, go to the Pesticides menu and click PPUs:

  2. Ensure you tick each of the PPUs you’d like to share in bulk

3. Once selected, on the right hand side under actions you will have the option to ‘Share (Multiple)’, select this

4. Now search for the organisation you would like to share your PPU with, select them and click Save. Your PPU will then be shared successfully
