Each Temper Staff shift comes with its own expected wage, which you can find detailed on the shift page for specific jobs. What’s important to keep in mind, is that the wage that is displayed on the shift page, differs from what you will actually be paid out.
One important thing to note is that the wages shown are gross, meaning they are before income taxes are deducted. Read more about how salary is structured here.
Why do wages vary by shift?
Each shift comes with a basic pay rate, which can vary based on the type of work you’re doing. This rate is set by the hiring company, but is in accordance with the collective labor agreement (CAO) for that industry, making sure it aligns with minimum wage laws.
While the company sets the basic pay rate, there are some extra perks you might get! For example, if you work overtime or pick up a shift on the weekend, at night, or on a public holiday, you could earn additional allowances. Be aware that the hourly wage stated in the contract reflects the basic wage only. It does not include holiday pay, vacation days, or reservations. Your actual gross wage will be higher.
