Quick Summary: The search bar at the top of the screen allows you to quickly find products, locations, and suppliers by typing any part of a name or code. The app returns all matching records and groups them by category so you can navigate directly to the information you need.

How Search Works

The app includes a universal search bar located at the top of the screen. This search bar scans across products, locations, and suppliers and displays all matches in an organised list.

You can type any keyword, product code, location name, or supplier code. As you type, the app updates your results dynamically and displays the matching items you can select.

Example: Searching for “3055”

In this example, the keyword 3055 was entered in the search bar. The app returned results across all available categories:

  • Products: All products that contain “3055” in their product code appear in the results.

  • Locations: No locations contained “3055” in their location name.

  • Suppliers: Supplier 3055: CONSOLIDATED TYPE COMPANY PTY LTD appeared and was available for selection.

These categories help you easily identify which type of record you are selecting before opening it.

⚠️ Watchouts

  • Ambiguous keywords: Using partial codes or very common keywords may return a long list of results, requiring careful selection.

  • No-results searches: If no products, locations, or suppliers match your keyword, the list will show no options for that category.

💡 Tips

  • Use partial codes: You can type only part of a code or name to quickly narrow down results.

  • Scan categories: Review the grouped categories (Products, Locations, Suppliers) to ensure you are selecting the correct record type.
