Inventory Advisor Data Source Setup
The Inventory Advisor Data Source is an add-on module offered within the Inventory Advisor application to any of the existing package offerings. To enable the module, contact your Account Manager for activation. Once activated, please follow the steps below.
Setting Up Your Data Source Connection
After activation, the Data Source module will appear in the Settings menu.
Navigate to Settings → Data Source to open the configuration page, which contains the following sections:
Access: Displays connection details for the MySQL Data Source database.
CIDR/IP Whitelisting: Defines the authorized networks permitted to connect.
SaaS Whitelisting: Allows selection of your BI tool and configuration of approved SaaS regions.
Access
The MySQL access credentials for the Inventory Advisor Data Source are provisioned automatically. Provisioning may take up to 30 minutes after activation.
Once ready, the credentials will appear in the Access panel.
These credentials must be stored securely in accordance with your organization’s secure-sharing requirements.
CIDR/IP Whitelisting
To authorize external networks, add the required CIDR range or IP address.
Select Add in the CIDR/IP Whitelisting panel.
Enter the authorized IP ranges, ensuring each entry includes a unique description.
• Entries can be updated after saving.
• Multiple IP ranges can be added as needed.
After saving, the whitelisted ranges will appear in the panel.
SaaS Whitelisting
Select your SaaS BI provider from the list, then confirm the relevant regions.
Click Add Selected SaaS Regions to complete the configuration.
Notes:
Self-hosted BI tools or environments requiring bring-your-own-infrastructure will not appear in this list.

Once regions are added, they will appear in the SaaS Whitelisting panel.
With all configurations complete, use the provided MySQL credentials to connect your BI tool to the Netstock Data Source.
Netstock BI Connection Tester
To validate connectivity or troubleshoot issues, install the Netstock BI Connection Tester tool. It is available for Mac and Windows via your Customer Success consultant.
Steps:
Select IA BI Data Source from the dropdown menu.
Enter the access credentials from the Access panel, along with a database name.
Click Run Connection Test.
The tool will confirm:
Whether the device is connected to the internet
Whether the host is reachable on port 3306
Whether a successful connection was made to the data source
The date and time of the last update processed
