Quick Summary: Netstock runs two scheduled tasks: one for continuous communication and one for daily data extraction. Both tasks default to the SYSTEM account, which prevents failures caused by expiring user passwords. A different account may be used, but this requires manual reconfiguration or reinstall.

Netstock Scheduled Tasks

Netstock uses two scheduled tasks to maintain communication with the customer ERP server. These scheduled tasks are created automatically during the initial installation.

Task 1: Get Files

  • Runs every minute

  • Maintains continuous communication between the Netstock integration servers and the customer ERP server

Task 2: Data Extraction

  • Runs once every day at a set time

  • Extracts updated ERP data which is then used to update the customer Netstock instance

Both tasks are required for reliable data flow.

Running the Scheduled Tasks

Both tasks require a specific user account in order to run successfully.

During installation, the Netstock Connector creates these two scheduled jobs and assigns them to run under the SYSTEM account by default.

Default and Recommended User Account

The SYSTEM account is the default execution account for scheduled tasks. It is the recommended choice because:

  • It avoids failures caused by password expiry

  • It eliminates the need to update credentials manually

  • It remains valid regardless of staff changes or login policies

Using a named user account introduces risk. When credentials expire or change, the scheduled tasks will stop running.

If a different account must be assigned, the scheduled task user can be changed, but this requires either:

  • A reinstall of the connector, or

  • A registry-level update to replace the stored credentials
