How To: Bulk Defrost Forecasts Using Upload and Download

Purpose

Defrost multiple frozen forecasts in a single action using the multi-forecast upload and download workflow.


Step 1: Open the Forecasts Screen

  1. Navigate to Forecasts from the left navigation menu.

  2. Select the location where you want to apply the changes using the location dropdown in the top-right corner.


Step 2: Open the Multi Forecasting Screen

  1. Click Adjust items.

This opens the Multi Forecasting screen.


Step 3: Filter for Items with Frozen Forecasts

  1. Click Filter in the top right.

  2. In the Frozen forecasts filter, select Items with frozen forecasts.

  3. Apply any additional filters as needed.

  4. Click Apply.

This ensures only items with frozen forecasts are included.


Step 4: Download the Forecasts

  1. Click Download in the bottom right.


Step 5: Prepare the File for Upload

  1. Open the downloaded file.

  2. Copy the values from the Computer columns into the corresponding Upload columns.

  3. Save and close the CSV file.


Step 6: Upload the Forecasts

  1. Return to the Multi Forecasting screen.

  2. Click Upload.

  3. Follow the upload steps and select Reload now when prompted.

The updated rows will be highlighted in green. At this stage, the forecasts are still frozen.


Step 7: Apply and Defrost the Forecasts

  1. Click Apply in the bottom right.

  2. In the Apply forecast dialog:

    • Add an optional comment.

    • Select Defrost any forecasts that match the computer forecast.

  3. Click Apply to confirm.


Step 8: Review the Results

If you remain on the original filtered list, the items will disappear because they are no longer frozen.

To confirm the outcome:

  • Change the filter to Items without a frozen forecast, or

  • Search for a specific item and review it on the Enquiry screen.


⚠️ Watchouts

  • Filter dependency: If the frozen forecast filter remains applied, defrosted items will disappear from the list.

  • Location-specific: Bulk defrosting applies only to the selected location.
