Introduction

There are 2 different types of camera masks:

  1. TetherX Mask - this allows you to specify areas of the image where TetherX will ignore motion. TetherX will not modify the original image in any way.
The TetherX masking will make TetherX motion detection ignore motion in that region, but you will not see any effect in live view. If you want to mask out an area of the image so that it is just completely blank, you will need to do it inside of the camera settings.

  2. Camera Mask - this is a built in feature of most cameras. You will need to refer to the camera manufacturer's manual for instructions how to enable this mask. You can usually enable this mask remotely through our tunnelling feature.

TetherX Mask

1. Tap "Admin" > "Cameras"

2. Tap the "desired camera name" > scroll down to the bottom of the page and tap Edit

3. Tap the tab named "Mask"

You can now paint over the desired areas you wish TetherX to ignore.

4. Tap Update Camera to confirm your changes.

Note: this will not modify the video feed in anyway, it will only ignore any events/movement in the masked out areas.

Camera Mask

This is a feature provided by the camera or DVR/NVR itself. You will need to refer to the manufacturer's manual. You can usually enable this mask remotely through our tunnelling feature.
