Please refer to our Local Streaming Introduction for more information about local streaming is and why it is important. If you are not able to get Local Streaming, please follow the troubleshooting steps on this page.

1) Can you access the IP address of your TetherBox in a Browser?

You can find the IP address of your TetherBox on your router or in the platform. Please refer to our TetherBox Connection FAQ for more details.

Try opening the IP address in a web browser. For example, if your TetherBox IP is 192.168.1.123, you should be able to open it and see the following:

If you see something similar to the above screenshot, please move onto the next step.

If you see "Connection Timed Out" or "This site can't be reached", this means you are not on the same network as your TetherBox and you will need to check your network configuration. For example:

You may need to speak to your network administrator and provide them with the IP address of the TetherBox as well as your IP address and a screenshot, like an example above, in order for them to help further.

If you see anything else, please reach out to us on support@tetherit.io with your IP, the TetherBox IP as well as a screenshot of what you see for us to assist further.

2) Can you access the hostname of your TetherBox in a Browser?

Try opening the TetherBox hostname in your web browser: https://lan-TetherBoxSerial.timeline.is - replacing TetherBoxSerial with the actual serial of your TetherBox, you should see the same login page as in step 1:

If you see an error similar to Hostname Not Found, it is possible your DNS server is blocking the request. Please refer to our How to configure DNS server, which explains how to change your DNS server.
