Battle of the Bands are a fun way to get groups of students competing against each other within your school. They are a great way to sustain students' enthusiasm for TTRS.

What's new for Autumn 2025? đ¸
Important: All past, current, and future battles will be seamlessly moved to the new battle system. Students can continue as usual, and existing scores will remain unchanged since the scoring system is staying the same.
1) Customise battle names and images:
Create your own battle name and choose an image to represent your competition as shown below. The Battleâs name will be visible to students, added to promotional materials, and included on certificates so choose a fun name such as âYear 4âs weekly showdownâ or âEnd of Term Rockathonâ!

Tip: All Battles which you created before this update will be given a name based on the teacher's name and the month within which the battle was started. For example "Mr Blogg's Nov Battle." You can easily edit these names by going to Tournaments > Battles and then clicking the pen icon beside a battle name to edit it.
2) More promotional resources:
After creating your battle, you'll get instant access to:
NEW - Battle poster, customised with your chosen name.
NEW - Assembly presentation, fully customised with all your battle details.
NEW - Social media pack of images, for Instagram, Facebook and X.
NEW - Launch video, explaining the rules and how to win!

3) Improved leaderboards:
Both the teacher and student view of leaderboards have been updated.
NEW - full screen mode - perfect for putting on your whiteboard to build excitement!

Live, full-screen leaderboards are great for keeping track of who is winning! All leaderboards update every 60 seconds, so you always have the latest data.
4) Award Presentation:
On battle completion, a new Awards tab will give you access to:
Group certificates and student certificates all in one download.
NEW - Generic student certificate (great for rewarding participation).
NEW - Award presentation to show in class or assembly!

5) Easier recurring Battle management:
Now, when you set a recurring battle (e.g. a weekly battle) you can make edits to all battles in the set, rather than just one at a time.
After making an edit to a battle that is part of a recurring set, you'll be offered the option to change one, or change them all:
6) Easier custom group management:
When you want to battle groups that don't already exist, you can create "Custom Battle Groups". These groups can now be created, edited and deleted straight from the main Battle homescreen by clicking this new button:

No â anything youâve already set up will continue working as before. However, you may like to download new resources such as social media images. To do this, visit Tournaments > Battles > In Play then click on your battle and select the Resources tab.

You must select at least one image and give your Battle a name, but it can be as simple as "September Battle."

These appear instantly after you create a battle, under the new Resources tab which will appear when you click the battle.
For Battles youâve already created, you can find resources by going to Tournaments > Battles and then clicking the Battle name and visiting the Resources tab.

Theyâve been improved and grouped together for easier downloading, but they still reward participation and achievement in the same way.
