For 5+ years, the teacher platform has offered settings to help students' develop healthy and appropriate digital habits. That's because, as parents, carers and teachers ourselves, we intrinsically care about the wellbeing of every child.
To make it easy to find and adjust these settings to suit your students, we've grouped them neatly into a Digital Wellbeing Hub on our teacher site:
Digital Wellbeing Hub
Privacy Settings - by default, everything is set to the most private options. Read more.
Activity Limits - help parents and carers by setting 'hours of operation' to prevent students playing too early or too late. Read more about curfew.
Shop settings - to maintain focus on answering questions, close the Custom Shack (avatar shop) during school hours and/or outside school hours. There's also an override if you need to quickly open or close the shop for 2 hours. Read more.
Much like the rest of the NumBots experience, new tools and features are planned for the Digital Wellbeing hub.
What NumBots does NOT do
While we can highlight areas of the website to demonstrate what has been built, the following list outlines deliberate decisions not to implement certain features.
NumBots does not:
Provide an area to chat, message, ping, meet or share other users.
Reveal another player's location or school belonging.
Use gambling-esque devices that randomise rewards.
Display irrelevant graphics during gameplay. It's colourful not gimmicky.
Offer ingame rewards for longevity of play or play streaks.
Display in-game ads nor gather data for marketing purposes.
Have external links in the app.
