Having your transaction stalled at the payment part isn’t the best experience. However, it gets easier when you can think about several reasons behind this happening.
In light of this, here are some reasons you may experience difficulties making online payments with your Timon card for the following reasons:
1. Insufficient Funds
It is possible that the refused card payment was due to insufficient funds on your Timon card. Your online payment won't go through if you have one dollar or less than that in your Timon account. Ensure you have sufficient funds to cover the transaction amount required by [payment platform] and transaction fees. We may also restrict your access to our card service if we repeatedly deny card transactions because of insufficient funds.
2. Card Type Requirements
The payment platform might require a specific card type. At Timon, we offer:
- USD VISA Card: Has a Nigerian billing address.
- USD Mastercard: Has a US billing address.
If one doesn’t work, we recommend you try the other option. You can transfer funds between your USD virtual cards from the app for free.
3. Wrong Card Details
Ensure you enter the card details displayed on the Timon App, e.g., check that the expiration date or card number is entered correctly.
4. Frozen Cards
Before making any payments, please confirm that your card is working and, if frozen, unfreeze it.
5. Unsupported Platforms
It is possible that you tried the card on a platform that is prohibited, such as cryptocurrency, betting, or porn. For security purposes, the transaction can also be halted.
Please ensure your card is funded when transacting, especially for planned and recurrent payments. To stop charges from appearing on your card, you can also remove your card from the platforms it has been added to or stop your membership.
