💻 Chrome Extension

If you want to manually start recording each of your Google Meets, you can do so with the tl;dv Chrome extension:

If your bot is flagged in the Google Meet waiting room, you might also need the tl;dv Chrome Extension to admit your Notetaker into the meeting, regardless of your automation preferences.

Installing the extension

From the Chrome web store, click "Add to Chrome":

Tip: The extension also works with Brave, Vivaldi, Opera and other browsers that support Chrome extensions

The tl;dv extension will appear next to your URL bar:

If you don't see it, it may be behind the puzzle icon 🧩. Here's how to check:

  1. Click the puzzle icon to reveal all your extensions.

  2. Find tl;dv (Record, Transcribe & ChatGPT for Google Meet) and press the pin icon. This will move the extension to your browser bar for easy access. 👍


Updating the extension

In most cases, the tl;dv extension will update automatically, but if you need to force an update manually, go to the Chrome web store, and click "Update extension":

If you're not sure which version you're using, just click the tl;dv icon in your browser and you'll see it here:

Pro tip: If you're having trouble with the extension and need support, click the down arrow next to the version, and send us all the information you see there. This lets us help you out faster. 👌


Removing the extension

To uninstall the tl;dv Chrome extension, go to the Chrome web store, and click "Remove from Chrome":

Important: If you have auto-recording enabled, tl;dv will still attempt to send bots to your scheduled meetings. Learn how to adjust your recording and sharing preferences here.
