How do I adjust a tip as a FreedomPay (Enterprise) customer?

These steps are only for FreedomPay (Enterprise) customers. If you are not a FreedomPay customer and need to adjust tips, please see Adjust Tips on a Closed Check. |
To adjust a check as a FreedomPay customer:
Navigate to the check you would like to adjust on your Toast POS.
Once you have selected the check, select Adjust.
You will next receive the prompt seen in the image below. Select what portion of the payment you would like to adjust. Select Done.
Edit the amount, and select the blue Update button.
You will receive the prompt seen in the image below.
Select Cancel if you do not want to proceed with the tip adjustment. No changes will be made to your captured check.
Select Proceed if you do want to proceed with the tip adjustment. The original payment will be voided, and the new, adjusted payment will be captured. The check will automatically close again.
Note: If there is an error voiding the original payment, you will be immediately notified so you can retry the tip adjustment. If there is an error capturing the new payment but the void and adjustment were successful, you will be immediately notified so you can manually close the check and properly capture the payment. All tip adjustments must be made on the same day payment was taken.
