Why are my Online Gift Card sales being assigned to a server?
Answer
All Online Orders (including online Gift Card orders) will be assigned to an Auto-Assigned user.
If you're a server looking to adjust how online orders are assigned, here's how to do it:
Navigate to Toast Web.
Select Takeout & delivery > Availability > Online Ordering.
Scroll down to the Server section.
Select either Assigned by auto-firing tablet or select the server that should have these assigned to it.
Here, you have two options for assigning online orders:
Choose Assigned by auto-firing tablet.
Or select a specific server to have these orders assigned to it.
Note: All online orders, online order tips, and Order & Pay tips will be allocated to this chosen server. You can then pool these tips later if your restaurant does tip pooling.
If you don't want online orders automatically assigned to a specific active server and prefer not to assign them to one individual, we recommend creating a dummy employee (for example, name them "Online Ordering" or "Tip Pooling"). Then, select this dummy employee as the server to be assigned to online orders.
Once you've made your selection, select Save.
