Tock: No Server Assigned to a Check

Tock sends an order to Toast along with the name of the server assigned to a specific table. However, there are instances when no server is assigned to a check generated by Tock. This usually happens when a server has not been designated in Tock before the order is sent to Toast.

Here is an example of what a check without a server looks like:

Check details with a blank "Server:" field

To resolve the no server issue with Tock checks, please review the Front of House Operations article to ensure Tock has a complete list of your employees for server assignments.

If your servers are not visible on Tock, please contact Tock support and have them sync the employees from your Toast account.

Tock: Random Server Assigned to a Check

In some cases, you may notice that a random server is assigned to a Tock check; this is due to the configuration of your Online Order Server. If the Online Order Server is set to Assigned by Auto-Fire Tablet, the device will automatically assign a server based on the last employee who logged in. If a specific server has been designated, the Auto-Fire Tablet will assign that server to the check.

To locate this setting in Toast Web, navigate to Takeout & Delivery > Availability > Online Ordering, and look for the Server Selection. Alternatively, you can use the search bar to search for Online Ordering.
