How can employees sign documents in Toast Payroll?

Employees can sign off on documents in Toast Payroll through Employee ToDos and within their new hire steps:

  • Through Employee ToDos, the signature will be saved alongside the document, but keep in mind that the system will not save the signature on the document itself.

  • Within the New Hire module, if the document is configurable, the signature will be saved on the document itself. If the document is not configurable, the employee's signature will be saved as a separate file connected to the document, but not on it file itself.


There are no other ways to have employees sign a file directly. If the above solutions do not meet your goals, you'll need to have the document signed outside of Toast Payroll.
