Toast Payroll: Cannot Process Payroll Status

What does it mean when I try to run payroll, but I get an error saying "Your business cannot process payroll due to an issue with your Toast Payroll account"?

There are three reasons you might see a Cannot Process Payroll status for a payroll on the Pay Cycle Dashboard:

  • Accounts who quit processing payroll with Toast, but do not notify us of this decision.

  • Accounts with suspected or potential fraud occurring.

  • Logging into an old company code which does not process payroll with Toast any longer.

In all three cases, the owner/operator or the Toast Payroll finance contact should reach out to Customer Care to resolve the specific situation. In the event that there is potential or suspected fraud on the account, we will also email your finance contact to make you aware of the suspected fraud. You might receive an additional notification in the Support Center as well. If so, follow the directions in the notification if you receive one.
