Toast Label Printer Isn't Printing
Take the following steps to troubleshoot:
Start by confirming that your printer is properly powered on and set up following the steps listed in the Toast Item Label Printer Quick Start Guide. Next, print a test ticket.
Step 1: Confirm your printer is able to print a ticket.
Power off your printer.
Hold the Feed button on the top of your printer.
While continuing to hold the Feed button, power the printer back on.
Note: If your printer is unable to produce a test ticket, contact our Customer Support team and reference code #550.
Step 2: Confirm your networking information (this information can be utilized when calling our Customer Care team for additional troubleshooting assistance).
Your test ticket will print with different submenu action items.
To select Print Self Test press the feed button two times, then press the feed button a third time while holding down on the button.
This will produce a long slip that includes data on the firmware version and printer serial number.
The print will pause with text on the final slip reading"Interface is Configuring." Wait approximately one minute for the remainder of the ticket to print.
This final slip will print and include connectivity information, including your IP address, DHCP status, and MAC address.
Press and release the feed button to finish your self-test and return to normal operation.
Step 3: Decipher if you're having a networking or configuration issue.

DHCP Disabled
|
If your test receipt shows that DHCP is Enabled, your printer is set up for a dynamic IP address. All printers shipped from Toast since June 2021 are DHCP enabled.
If you see both fields filled, delete the IP address. Don't forget to save and publish your changes.
|
If your test receipt shows that DHCP is Disabled your printer is set up for a static IP address.
If you see both fields filled, delete the serial number. Don't forget to save and publish your changes.
|
Is there an IP address (with multiple numbers) on the test print?
On the test ticket that just printed using the instructions above, check to confirm there is an IP address on the ticket. If the IP address is showing as "0.0.0.0" that means your printer isn't connected to the network. If there is an IP address on the test print, it means that it's a configuration issue. Follow the steps below to solve for either issue:
