The Hybrid Tabs gives you a personal digital tab. Your server starts your order, and you get a QR code for easy access right on your phone. Simplify your experience!
Get started today. There’s no setup or physical QR codes required. If you have a POS and a receipt printer, you can get started today.
Run a hybrid model. Leverage staff and digital ordering to streamline your operations, order-taking, and payment.

How do I enable Hybrid Tabs?

Do I need the Toast Mobile Order & Pay® module to use this feature?
Yes, you must own the Toast Mobile Order & Pay® product module to use Hybrid Tabs.
How do I print a Hybrid Tabs QR code from the POS?
Open a tab, select the three-dot menu > Print QR code for guests. This can be done from the POS or Toast Go®.
Can I limit which menus or items guests can order from their phone?
Yes. You can choose which menus and items guests can order from their phone by adjusting Order & Pay Menu Visibility on the Order & Pay settings page.
For example, you may choose to only let guests order food, but not drinks, from their phones. However, guests will still be able to pay for the full check.
Does the tab need to be linked to a table?
Yes. Orders must be started on a table for Hybrid Tabs to work correctly.
Do I need to enable the Tabs feature for Order & Pay?
Yes. You must ensure that Tabs are enabled on the Mobile Order & Pay settings page. Hybrid Tabs does not support the pay-as-you-go configuration.
What will my guests see?
The guest will be prompted to enter their name and phone number to join the tab. We will text them a link to the tab once they join. They can place another order and pay their tab directly from their phone.
What happens if multiple guests scan the same QR code?
If multiple guests scan the same Hybrid Tabs QR code, we automatically add them to a group. They can split the check at the end.
What happens if my guests lose their QR code?
When guests first scan the QR code, we will ask for their phone number and text them a link to their tab so they can access it at any point.
Do Hybrid Tabs support preauthorization?
If customers want to preauthorize the tab, that must be done on the POS. Once the tab is started on the POS, guests cannot preauthorize directly from their phones.
