Basic principles of discounts in Toast Online Ordering:
Requires a promo code to apply a discount
No manager permission settings
No auto-apply or open discounts
Note: Toast Retail items support the same discounts as menu items. Every discount type in the table below behaves the same way on a Toast Retail item as it does on a menu item. Some retailers also expect discounts that a brand or manufacturer funds and applies automatically. Toast does not support brand- or manufacturer-applied discounts today, and additional retail discount options are still in development.

Note: Bulk Discount (Min Quantity) is only available on Fixed discounts that are scoped to Check level. Item-level Fixed discounts cannot use Bulk Discount – the Min Quantity option only appears once the discount's scope is set to Check. When Min Quantity is met, Toast Online Ordering counts the total quantity of that item across every cart line, not just one line – so if a guest adds the same item to their cart more than once as separate lines, those quantities still add up toward the threshold.
