If your server-to-server feed integrates with both TOEFL and GRE, you will need to update your GRE API Key (authcode) when you update it for TOEFL.
Please note that EDM REST API Users may not need to update their API key though you will still need to update your URL (see “EDM REST API Users” section below).
Slate Users
After generating a new API Key and updating your TOEFL URL and API key:
Look up this Slate article: Automating GRE and TOEFL Score Import with ETS Data Manager Touchless Solution.
Go to Step 3: Configuring the import --> GRE Scores --> point number 10.
This will show you how to update the GRE authcode with the same API key you generated to update your TOEFL Integration.
EDM REST API Users
If your current API Key (authcode) is working, you can still use the same authcode for TOEFL and GRE. However, if you want to generate a new API key, you are welcome to do so. See the Generate New API Key article to learn how.
In either case, you will need to update your URL.
See this Update Guide for Existing Server-to Server Users of REST APIs to learn how.
If you keep your current API, skip to Step 2 in the Update Guide.
EDM SOAP Users
For GRE SOAP Service users, you will not be able to use the API key (authcode) that you generated for the TOEFL integration updates as is. You will need to decode the key first. If you still need to generate a new API key, see the Generate New API Key article.
Once you have generated a new API in TOEFL Access:
Go to Base64 Decode and Encode.
Enter the new API Key in the top text box.
Select Decode.
A username and password will appear in the lower text box.
Use the Copy to clipboard button to make it easy to use this information so that you can call the GRE SOAP service.
