If you have a Slate integration, this article is for you!

If you do not have an integration yet, see the Add New Slate Integration article.

Configuring Import in Slate Portal

The Score Data File automatically fetches score results shared with your institution.

1. Go to the main navigation in the Slate Portal and select Database.

2. Under Import and Data Processing, select Source Formats.

3. Select TOEFL Score Data File (Format: Fixed Width > 10/2017).

4. Select Edit. A pop-up appears.

5. Select the Import Automation tab.

6. Copy the following text:

Important: Copy the new URL exactly as shown above. Do NOT add or remove any spaces, characters, or line breaks.

7. Paste the text in the Import Remote Server field.

8. Do not change the HTTP Headers field if it already exists.

9. If you want to generate a new API Key, please see the Generate New API Key article. If you generate a new API Key, add it in the HTTP Headers field: <t name="authcode"></t> (see screenshot below).

Important: If you change the API key, it will impact your GRE API Key as well. See this article to learn more about how to update your GRE integration.

10. By default, all currently valid TOEFL scores released to your institution will be sent during the first fetch. To confirm this option, select Save. If you'd like to override this default, complete the following steps.

Optional: Override the Last Remote Server Fetch

Overriding this value will limit the fetch to new scores since the last import.

1. Select the Override link to the right of the Last Remote Server Fetch (UTC) field.

2. In the pop up, enter the case-sensitive confirmation message and select OK.

3. In the Last Remote Server Fetch (UTC) field, enter the approximate timestamp that the source format should send to TOEFL Access to restrict the data that is retrieved during the first data fetch.

  • Note: The timestamp should be in the UTC timezone in the format: yyyy-MM-ddTHH:mm:ss (for example, 2023-04-05T03:22:30)

4. Select Save.
