When can I take a payout?
You're eligible to take a payout only after passing the Trading Combine and opening your Funded level account, following our Payout Policy.
It's essential to check our list of Ineligible Countries before purchasing a Trading Combine, as citizens of these countries cannot take payouts.
Payouts are exclusively available from Funded Level accounts, such as Express Funded or Live Funded Accounts, and are not available from any size of Trading Combine account. You can find further information about completing the Trading Combine and what happens next here.
What is the profit split?
Traders receive 100% of the first $10,000 in profits
After the first $10,000 in funds has been received by the trader, the profit split will become 90/10. The trader receives 90% of payouts and Topstep retains 10% of the requested payout. This is per trader, not per account.
If you receive a payout of $10,000 and then lose your Funded Account, your next Funded Account payout will be 90/10 when you start back up again.
Once the payout request is processed, the Maximum Loss Limit will be automatically set to the starting account balance (the trader cannot allow the account balance to reach or go below $0 after a payout).
When should I start taking payouts from my Funded Account?
If you take any payouts before your Maximum Loss Limit reaches $0, your limit will automatically be set to $0 with a payout.
To maintain your Topstep account for an extended period and take regular payouts, we recommend making your limit $0 before considering a payout. To make your limit $0, you will need to reach the corresponding levels of profits.

How do payouts affect my account parameters?
Your payouts affect your account parameters in the following ways:
Your Maximum Loss Limit will always be set to $0 after your first payout.
If your limit has already reached $0 and you take a payout, your limit will remain at $0. At that point, the capital remaining in your account will be the maximum amount you will be able to lose.
How do payouts impact my Maximum Position Size?
Payouts can impact your Maximum Position Size in the following way:
Payouts can impact how much leverage you have and the amount of risk you can take. The scaling plan will determine what impact your payout has on your Express Funded Account. If your payout brings you down a level, your account will be set to the corresponding buying power. This means that a payout could result in you not being able to trade as many contracts. How does trading impact my payout request while it is being processed?

If you choose to continue trading while Topstep processes a payout for you, there’s a risk the original payout request may not be processed. This can be due to trading losses that result in either the loss of your account or a reduction in the amount Topstep can send you.
We recommend that you wait until the payout is reflected on your Trader Dashboard before placing additional trades to avoid any unexpected impacts on your payout request.
How do I request a payout? What is the process?
In an Express Funded Account or Live Funded Account, you can request a payout directly from your profile's dashboard once you've met the requirements of the Payout Policy. You are not able to request a Payout from a Trading Combine account.
The Minimum Payout Request is $125.00.
Which countries cannot request or receive payouts or earn funding with Topstep?
You must review Topstep's Eligibility Requirements for the full details on which countries are eligible to trade and take Payouts with Topstep. The following countries cannot request or receive payouts or earn funding with Topstep: Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Angola, Bahamas, Barbados, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Botswana, Bulgaria, Burma, Burundi, Cambodia, Central African Republic, Congo Free State, Cote D'Ivoire (Ivory Coast), Crimea, Croatia, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Ethiopia, Ghana, Guyana, Iceland, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Jamaica, Kosovo, Laos, Lebanon, Liberia, Libya, Mauritius, Mongolia, Montenegro, Nicaragua, North Korea, North Macedonia, Panama, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovenia, Somalia, South Sudan, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Syria, Trinidad and Tobago, Tunisia, Uganda, Ukraine, Venezuela, Yemen, and Zimbabwe.
My bank wants a verification letter stating why I'm requesting a payout/receiving a deposit
Topstep does not provide verification letters for payouts, but you can provide your bank with a copy of your Express Funded Account Agreement for verification purposes.
